   Hi. Do you know if asbestos was used in the construction of Chieftain Tanks? I know they were used in the thermal sleeves to protect the cannon. I was wondering if asbestos panels were used as fire protection, e.g. in the turrets to protect crew, inside the tank to protect ammunition. Also, were the tank crews issued with fireproof protective clothing which could have been asbestos lined (I know military fire crews were)?
