Photo of the Day: IDF Armor in the Snow

People don’t typically think of snow when they think of Israeli armor.  However, here is a picture of a Merkava MBT and a Pereh ATGM tank in the snow.

  1. The north of Israel is quite green, wet and cold and while it isn’t Minneso-cold, it does get snow, especially on the slopes of Mt. Hermon and the flat plains of the Golan Heights. As a matter of fact, the Israeli cold-weather coveralls are called a “Hermoneet” because that is what you’d be issued if you served on Mt. Hermon or surrounding areas in the cold months.
