Here is another “Top Five Tanks” video from the Tank Museum at Bovington. This episode features the creator of the youtube channel Military History Visualized as he presents his top five.
To mark the first appearance of the German A7V on the battlefield 100 years ago, both the Great War channel and the Bovington Tank Museum have released videos looking at the German WWI tank. The Tank Museum video is part of their long running “Tank Chats” series as looks at the replica A7V housed at the Tank Museum. The Great War video looks at the A7V replica that resides at the German Tank Museum in Munster, Germany. Of course, the only surviving original A7V is at the Queensland Museum in Australia.
The Tank Chats series featuring David Fletcher of the Bovington Tank Museum continues looking at the British WWII “Funnies”, examining the Centaur Dozer variant.
In this video, the Forgotten Weapons website takes a look at the M20 75mm Recoilless Rifle.
Here is a new entry in the Tank Chat series from the Tank Museum at Bovington. This one takes a look at the famous German WWII King Tiger tank.
The
Kingdom of Jordan has opened up a new museum dedicated to tanks and military history and showcasing over 100 armored vehicles. According to news articles, the museum collection has been assembled over the last ten years and contains vehicles from the Jordanian Armed Forces as well as machines from other countries given as gifts or through military exchange programs. While we have not seen a complete list of all the vehicle types on display, based on the photos and videos made available so far, this is a very impressive collection of vehicles, including some relatively rare WWII era vehicles.

For those that want to see and hear a B1bis being run, here is some footage that recently showed up on youtube. This footage comes from the Retromobile 2018 show in France. The flames coming from the exhaust are quite impressive.
We recently came across this video from June of last year featuring author and historian Dr. Robert Cameron giving a lecture describing the history of the U.S. Armor Branch. He is the author of the book Mobility, Shock, and Firepower: The Emergence of the U.S. Army’s Armor Branch, 1917-1945. This book is available as a free download here.
